CBC.ca Arts - Corner Brook nets 2009 ECMA gala: "Corner Brook will be the next stop for the East Coast Music Awards following the upcoming 20th anniversary event in Fredericton, organizers said Monday.

Members of the East Coast Music Association's board of directors announced Monday that the Newfoundland and Labrador city would be the host for its music festival, conference and awards gala in 2009."

ECMAs expected to bring big dollars to Fredericton: "Fredericton businesses are gearing up for a busy weekend as the East Coast Music Awards descend on the city.

The city is expecting the four-day conference and festival from Feb. 7-10 to bring in at least $5 million, said Bruce McCormack, general manager of the Downtown Fredericton Inc. business improvement association."
